It is used in flooring, roofing and wall cladding. It being a soft stone, can be chiseled and given different shapes. Slate stone garden furniture, garden landscaping products including Slate stone fountains and fireplaces are high in demand.
Slate stone varieties are based on the slate stone colors. The usual slate colors are black, dark gray, greenish gray, copper and purplish gray. Yogyakarta use a black carbon paint which requires a special slip material that prevents the use of fine lines in the decoration.
